Bharti announces organisational changes at the beginning of the new financial year

New Delhi, March 31, 2003 : Bharti today announced strategic organisational changes in the Bharti Tele-Ventures top management team across its Mobility and Infotel businesses, effective from new financial year.

Mr. Anil Nayar, after spending 7 years in successfully managing the Mobility operations, will now have a new role at Bharti. After having built the Mobility Leaders to a position of all India leadership with 3 million customers across 16 States, he now moves into a non-operational supervisory position at the Corporate Office. After a brief sabbatical, he will now be taking over as Supervisory Director of the Mobility business at the Corporate Office. He will continue to report to Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal.

Mr. Manoj Kohli, who had joined Bharti as Joint President, Mobility Leaders about 6 months back, will now take over (from Mr. Anil Nayar) as President, Mobility Leaders. He will head the Operations of Bharti’s Mobility business. In a short span of 6 months, Manoj has exhibited his ability to seamlessly knit the Mobility business through performance, innovation and speed. He will report to Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal.

The other organisational changes announced are as follows :

Mr. P.H.Rao, CEO, Southern Hub - Mobility leaders (Tamil Nadu, Chennai, Kerala) retires. He will continue to be associated with Bharti as a Corporate Director to manage the environment for all the businesses of Bharti in the South.

After a very successful stint as CEO - Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh TouchTel (fixed line) operations Mr. P.Swaminathan, now takes over from Mr. P.H.Rao as CEO, Southern Hub (Tamil Nadu, Chennai and Kerala) of Mobility Leaders.

Mr. Rohtash Mal, CEO, Delhi for Bharti’s Fixed Line operations, will take over from Mr. P.Swaminathan, as CEO - Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. He continues to report to Mr. Badri Agarwal, President, Infotel Leaders.

After a very successful stint as COO, TouchTel (Fixed Line) operations - Haryana, Mr. Rajiv Kohli, will now take over as CEO - Haryana and Delhi operations. He continues to report to Mr. Badri Agarwal.
