Now pay your easyday Store bills using airtel money

First retailer in India to provide customers this facility to pay in-store bills

New Delhi, February 3, 2011 : Bharti Retail, wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Enterprises, today announced the facility for customers at its easyday and easyday Market stores to pay for their shopping bills on their mobile phone. This facility is being offered in association with Bharti airtel – India’s leading global telecommunications company with operations in 19 countries across Asia and Africa – using its airtel money mobile wallet service. Initially available to customers of easyday stores in Gurgaon, the facility will be launched in other key cities in India to cover all easyday and easyday Market stores in phased manner, as per the roll out of airtel money.

Talking about the initiative Mr. Andrew Levermore, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti Retail, said, “Bharti Retail believes in saving people’s money and making their lives better. In line with this philosophy, we are delighted to introduce the mobile payment facility at our easyday and easyday Market stores which will facilitate payments at our stores and add to the overall shopping convenience of our customers. Customers at easyday and easyday Market stores can pay up to Rs.5,000 (as permitted under RBI regulations) for their in-store shopping with this mobile payment facility. airtel money is a new age payment instrument which transforms the mobile phone into a secure wallet. It allows customers to exchange cash up to Rs.5,000 for virtual money at any airtel money outlet and store it on their phone in the form of a prepaid account.

Customers can recharge their mobiles at all airtel money outlets across India, in a phased manner.
